decent health care for poor and working Americans is the same as pulling the plug. This is actually a compassion issue -- a liberal issue -- our issue.

We should be out there pointing to the many, many Terry Schiavos whose families cannot pay to keep them on support. How long does a state pay to keep Medicaid patients on support? I'd like to know that figure. How many people are taken off life support every year not because they have signed a living will but because there is no money to pay for their staying on? How many people can't get an important test because they can't afford to pay for it? How many people don't have routine test they need because they can't afford them. I'll bet those numbers are huge, and we should get them to the public. Does anyone know how to get this information?
