Social security - More about killing SS or enriching corporations? |
|
I had looked at the social security reform primarily as a way to destroy social security with out saying so. I had heard the argument about enriching the corporations, but I had not given it as much thought.
However, today it really hit me when I was talking to a person at work about it. She told me she was all for it because she "could" retire with millions of dollars and have a beach house and boats if the stocks performed super well whereas with social security she'd never be rich. That rich talk - the way they had her believing there was a chance in hell she'd do so well with investment in stocks... the greed. That's what made me truly realize what was going on.
Think about how much money will be dumped directly in to the big corporations if everyone in america started paying in to stocks instead of social security. I mean just think about it. The cash flow could be enormous. In a way with out wages we will be subsidizing the corporations. Every pay check... part of it would go back to a corporation. Wouldn't that make us something like serfs? I say yes, and I bet that's the goal. It's not getting rid of social security they want - it's to create serfs that subsidize the rich based on the lie it's "our money" and we can "do what we want with it".
Truly ironic and depressing. She kept repeating the talking point "It's our money we should get to keep it and do what we want with it". Great plan. Instead of giving it to the government and have reasonable security for the future you can give it to wal mart and wager your future on them.
