1. The LA Times is out of touch with LA voters
We are so progressive/liberal that we elected a union leader as our mayor. An old fashioned liberal was just not liberal enough for this city. Yet, the Times regurgitates the same right-wing trash that sells newspapers in the rest of the country, and they are wondering why their subscriber base is dwindling. Their choice of Kinsley -- a cutesy, clever smarty-pants nerd who apparently doesn't even really live in LA -- as editor indicates just how unwilling they are to accept us Angelenos as we are.

So Sunday, the LA Times had no room for decent coverage of the DSM outside of the Kinsley crud on the oops-ed page, but that did not stop them from publishing an article on the couple of lone Democrats who criticized Dean and opposite that, an article on the nasty remarks the apparently right-wing Democratic governor of Virginia made about why he doesn't like California Dems.

I'm a long time subscriber to the LA Times, but I've just about had it Why can't we have a Los Angeles newspaper that reflects the opinions and attitudes of the people of Los Angeles? Why does the Times have to import an editor to tell us what to think and decide what we can read? There are lots of talented writers and editors here in Los Angeles who know what is going on here.
