remember that your life is flashing before your eyes and you only have seconds to make a life or death decision.

do you:

run up the aisle and exit onto the jetway? BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM you're dead.

frantically tell other people there's a bomb on the plane? BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM you're dead.

try to diffuse the bomb yourself? BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM you're dead.

quietly remain in your seat and take another risperdal? ding ding ding ding ding!!

statistically speaking, if you see a bomb on a plane, odds are REALLY, REALLY good that you're experiencing a delusion. take another pill. bombs on planes are REALLY REALLY RARE. not even 9/11 involved a bomb. in the last, what 10 years, there was that foiled shoe guy and that's about it.

moreover, the message of the latest incident from the government and all their apologists is very clear: if you see a bomb, shut the fuck up or we'll kill you. you're in far more danger from the adrenaline- and testosterone- jacked up anti-terror security weenies than you are from any actual terrorist plot.

it might be nice if the government expressed a bit more concern about trying to get it right.
