I tell ya what, John McCain really had me in the 2000 election cycle. Since then my respect has gradually waned.
Today, was the last straw. Today John McCain defended George W Bush's direct violation of the fourth amendment. The man is a skulking husk of what he once was. He has curled on GW Bush's thumb for the sake of ensuring his access to the 2008 nomination. The lone holdout is being unable to whore himself out over the torture issue.
