With the spying case, the Democrats are now poised to kick some ass

For so long, while we've understood the fundamentally undemocratic and unAmerican character of the neocons who have come to power, we haven't been able to find an issue with which to demonstrate that character. From the getgo, I have believed that the one way that we could finally and permanently turn the vast majority of the people of our country against them is to somehow highlight their betrayal of the founding fathers' high ideals. Even with how horribly the invasion of Iraq has gone over the past few years, it has not opened the eyes of the public because of the spinning of purposes and the neocons hiding behind the morale of "the troops."

But the same does not hold true today. Not with this spying that Bush has been doing, which is clearly and unbelievably illegal.

Today, we have backed the Repukes into the corner of defending a coward's motto: "Would you rather be free, or dead?"

The betrayal now could not be clearer.

And it looks as if, this time, the Democrats are themselves not afraid. They might just make old Thomas, John, Ben, and George proud, I think.
