| 6. Reminds me of this |
 Painting or graffiti based on a press photo of former Soviet president Leonid Brezhnev and former East German head of state Erich Honecker. The picture has the subtitle in Russian and German: "Oh God help me to overcome this deadly love". The mural is by the now famous Russian artist Dmitry Vrubel. It is painted directly onto the section of wall on the East Berlin side near the River Spree. The picture was completed after the tumultuous events of November 1989. http://www.aidan.co.uk/photo3981.htm I saw this painting on the remains of the Berlin Wall when I visited Germany in 1997. |
