26 December 2005 (# 21)

I realize that the DNC, DCCC, DSCC, and a variety of other Democratic Party organizations have all their org charts, turf, and whatever. I’ve struggled for most of 2005 to develop a terse analogy -- a way of informing all of you that politics-as-usual is over in America.

I realize that perhaps even more than half of the voting age citizens in America do not need analogies to understand that Bush, Cheney and their neoconster minions, along with their mega-buck financial and media collaborators, are destroying everything America is supposed to be. What those folk also recognize is the abject failure of the Democratic Party to bring unambiguous leadership to the ballot, and to demand verifiable results at the polls.

So, this analogy is largely for the folk huddled inside the beltway taking polls and twitching every time a leader like Congressman Conyers, Slaughter, Lee and the CBC, or Senator Byrd, Feingold or Boxer (and, recently, Congressman Murtha) speak truth.

So, here’s the terse analogy, Gov. Dean.

The Democratic Party today, 26 December 2005, is like a player who’d pick up his bat and walk to the plate after the pitcher just shredded the previous two batters with .50 cal machine gun bursts.

Gov. Dean, the Republicans are not playing baseball.

They have not been playing baseball since 1994.

After what they did to Gore in 2000, and Cleland (and a bunch of others) in 2002, you’d have thought Kerry would step the plate armed with several hellfire missiles instead of a bat.

Not to be.

They swift-boated one arm, flip-flop’d the other arm, and during the afternoon and evening of November 2, 2004, they vaporized him with Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia. Not being one’s to assume their ammo wouldn’t run out, they suppressed countless numbers of folk from being able to vote.

In the intervening year, they’ve crushed everything from the 4th Amendment, to habeas corpus, to the Geneva Conventions, to ..., and they've murdered, tortured and maimed countless numbers of folk.

Do you want to have some chance of saving the Republic and ending the neoconsters from permanently converting America into a totalitarian militaristic imperial power using “democracy” as an excuse to kill and torture people and steal their resources?

If so, give the Nation and all of humanity something to celebrate on January 1, 2006, and something to fight for until the neoconsters are brought to justice.

Announce that every single Member of Congress worthy of claiming the “Democratic Party” as their banner has signed Articles of Impeachment against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and Gonzales (that’s the starter short list).

Urge Senator Reid and Congresswoman Pelosi to hold an immediate, secure hearing as to enable Sibel Edmonds to testify, under oath, to all she knows. For starters, that’s likely to take Hastert off the neoconster team roster and give him and his lawyers much to do in the coming years.

“America, Or Not?” -- Gov. Dean.

What’s it going to be? Do we keep pretending the neoconsters are playing a fair game of baseball, or do we halt the game and hold them accountable for what they are -- brutal enemies of the Constitution and of all humanity.

Onward,

p.s. “comity” is a euphemism for not having the guts to empty the dug-out when a team member has been assaulted – Rep. Tom Ford should be called on to mentor all House and Senate Dems on when it’s time to cross the aisle.

Peace.
