and it has nothing to do with who gets the nod to be our Democratic candidate. I plan on supporting whoever runs on the Democratic ticket.
However, the one thing that would cause me to re-think everything would be if no impeachment attempt is made on Bush by our party.
Win or lose, Bush must have Articles of Impeachment thrown at him in early 2007. If we win the House, he needs to be impeached soon after the elections. If we don't win the House, we still need to charge him with crimes and at least make an impeachment try.
They were talking this morning on CNN how it's now in all the history books in schools how Clinton was impeached. It really burned me up, knowing that the right wing is so proud of how this will forever be part of Clinton's legacy...that they impeached this fine president over a personal incident that hurt no one. The right wing got us good, didn't they.
It's time for some payback. We need to pull out all the plugs in early 2007. If no impeachment attempt is made on Bush, a part of my political soul will be gone forever.
We've labored hard for our Party. We've stuffed envelopes, made phone calls, put up signs in rain or shine, drummed up support for our candidates, pounded away at our keyboards getting the good message out, donated our hard-earned money....we've done everything possible that we can do.
The time is coming shortly for the Democratic Party to return us the favor. We've worked so hard for them, and they better not let us down on this one.
If our party owes us anything, they owe us a Bush impeachment attempt.
