4. People who make asses of themselves by treating a dead man and
his grieving family with open contempt and disrespect will turn away masses and make allies for the former president.

I know all the terrible policies that were championed by Reagan- I actively fought him at nearly every turn. I am confident that as time passes, clear, unprejudiced debate will allow the truth to come out.

It only muddles the process to malign a man as he is mourned.

Reagan was a powerful personality at a time when the country was looking for a grandfather rather then a president. We should respectfully mourn the grandfather but be ready to reasonably discuss the failures of the president.
