I'm in counseling for a number of reasons and awhile back, finally unloaded on my therapist about how upsetting the current situation (wacko Bushies, results of their actions, stupid war, people dying, etc.) has been for me. She told me she has many clients who are experiencing the same thing, and for me that was somewhat of a consolation. She took the liberty of telling me about an upcoming John Kerry meet-up in my town, which I attended. I was amazed to hear how disquieted so many folks there are about the administration and several mentioned that for the first time as Americans, they are truly afraid. Though I have seen this response often on DU, it was the first time I'd personally encountered folks who feel that same way. I'm still in counseling, still working through a lot of things, and actually not too positive about the future, but in all respects, we must keep the faith and keep TRYING!
