west that live totally environmentally conscious lives, developed a means of earning a living while contributing as little as possible to the corporate system, and are extremely politically and environmentally active. These are people that I know very well, and have the utmost respect for because of the way they conduct, and have conducted, their lives. They have fought the system all their lives, and actually won some battles through hard work, dedication, and donating more money than they could afford to important causes.

No offense intended, but, you were what, I'm guessing 10-15 years old when Reagan left office? I suggest some self-examination in order to discover where your hatred for "hippies" comes from.
