6. How about blaming the real culprits...
The American people and their insatiable consumption of oil. Not only in the form of gasoline (don't get me started on SUV drivers) but also in the form of increased demand on electrical generation systems, an ever increasing use of petroleum for plastics and other goods made with chemicals derived from oil, and of course the fuel for the trucks that haul all of our excess consumer goods to market.

Seems the only people profiting from the current oil market are those who own stock in oil companies and related industries. Hmmmm, now just who could that be?
