From the Dayton Daily News:

"America has been in too many wars for any of our wishes, but not one of them was wone by being sensitive."- Dick Cheney

snip

"Cheney ridiculed Kery's claim that he would operate a 'more sensitive' war on terror, criticized the Massachusetts senator's votes on the war in Iraq, and questioned his attendence record for Senate hearings. Cheney alluded to the 9/11 attacks in making the case for another four years for the Bush administration."

snip

"About 100 military veterans sat on risers behind Cheney. The audience in front included around 400 Republican party supporters from throughout southwest Ohio and there were around 75 empty seats at the rear of the crowd."

snip

"Outside the convention center, more than 100 protesters lined the corners at the intersection of Fifth and Main streets, chanting and holding Kerry-Edwards signs high."

Sorry no link. I took this directly from the newspaper.

So it looks like the Republicans are going to go with the old tried and true and accuse Kerry of being weak on defense. I think Kerry is right in that we need to take a more sensitive approach in regards to foreign policy matters and the war on terror, but how will this position play with Mr. and Mrs. Swing Voter? Will Bush be seen as tougher on terror therefore making us safer? Perception matters even if it does not align with the facts.
