59. She has the right to decide she wants to do this with her father.
She also has the right to think she might do one thing, then change her mind to do this with her father instead. I know I would do the same if it were my father.

If her father wasn't a republican that you hated, you wouldn't be judging her decision at all. If Chelsea had taking a job, then decided to postpone starting that job to stay with her family and help during a campaign, you would applaud, and be furious as conservatives who criticized the decision.

People change their minds and alter their choices all the time - but here, we treat conservatives, or family members of conservatives we don't like differently than we do liberals or other people that we think are ok.

The bottom line is, only she knows if the decision she made as the best, right, just decision. There are an infinite amount of contextual factors that go into the decision, and neither you or I are really qualified to pass judgment on that. That's the rational position.

But hell, if you want to criticize anything just because they are people you don't like, go right ahead. I however realize that I can't know whether her decision was a pure one, but I can certainly imagine doing the same thing in her shoes, and being right to do so, whether you would agree or not.
