Thanks for saying it. My son is an active duty Marine in Najaf currently and while I am relieved he hasn't been hurt, I can't help but wonder if he were, in 20 years is there someone who is going to denigrate his service? He already earned a medal for his first time in Iraq, is there some dirtbag in the future who is going to question it? I am about as liberal as they get in Southeast Arizona but I am not ashamed to say I love the Military. I am also a Veteran from the Cold War days (1979-1981 and one of very few women soldiers), when I really believed the Russians were rolling over the Fulda Gap at any time. I am so angry at the Bush administration for the way they wear the flag when they want but at the same time tear down those who did the actual fighting. Anyways, there are still people who honor military service out there.
