...my response was to say how interesting the first part was (I have no idea if it's true) -

But I did point out that the Koran verse is a complete invention - verse 9:11 reads as follows (depending on the translation)

"But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know. "

With a Koran search engine I was not able to find a reference to an eagle ANYWHERE in the Koran.

And then I let them know that I thought it inappropriate to be sending politically-themed e-mails to council member and to please take me off their lists for any future mailings of this nature. I think I embarassed our pastor because he did not know or research the Koran citation.
