25. "liberal" was always a ghost
"Liberal" always meant no more and no less those who refused to join in the orgy of hatred. Those who wouldn't hate were to be hated. They have no real understanding of what a liberal is, and now they are having a hard time figuring out who is who, so that poster starts grasping for anything in desperation and suggests a ridiculous standard.

"Liberal" was always an illusion - they were shadow boxing.

This is very interesting to me. This is a very, very good sign. Winning was the worst thing that could ever happen to the neo-cons. Tearing up the game board in the process left all of their supporters adrift and questioning. Questioning is good. Very good.

Some of the threads at DU recently seemed really different to me - less strident and partisan. There are more and more posts here now that can't be easily ridiculed or responded to with the usual right wing jeering-points. By beating liberals into what they think is submission, they have freed liberals up from worrying about them anymore. The "dance of death" is unraveling. The music is going off key.
