13. The same as the strategy the rethugs used. Stop trying to shove the
controversial and divisive issues down people's throats. I have no problem with, and enthusiastically support gay equality, but the sad fact is that a majority, or at least a large minority, of amerikans do not. This is just one example and there are many more.
Instead, how about making the issues that a clear majority of citizens agree on? Abortion is a big one, every poll shows 65% or more favorable opinions. Restructuring the tax code to put the major burden back where it belongs, on the corporations that have used our system to get big. California has shown again and again that, in spite of the grand-standing, no corporation is willing to give up a lucrative market because it doesn't like what the government does. Eventually they accept the new rules and comply. Again, these are just a couple of examples.
Just like the fundie-wackos on the right did in the 80's and 90's, the less popular members of the Democratic party will just have to bide their time until the party has the power to push their issues.
It's an idea anyway. :beer: :shrug: :beer:
