It's true that during the months when you don't rent much you lose money on it, but I personally make that up in not paying late fees. The best thing about Netflix is that you have access to a selection much, much larger than your local Blockbusters can offer. Basically if you're looking for anything that came out more than 10 years ago or didn't play in a multiplex, Blockbusters cannot help you. Netflix has a lot of stuff you would never find in most video chains: documentaries, lesser-known "classic" films, cult favorites, international films, and so on and so forth. They're pretty fast, and I've only ever gotten one DVD that was unplayable.
