Whistling, whistling, whistling, day and night. Random no-tune tunes, Christmas songs, commercial jingles. Experimenting with different notes, seeing how long she can hold a single note. Runs, interpretive whistling, you name it.

Did I mention that she can whistle really well and REALLY LOUDLY???

I thought she was in her room ASLEEP at one point last night and I was walking down the hallway and heard WHISTLING.

She was in the backyard the other day and we could hear her whistling from INSIDE the house.

No amount of reminders that mom and dad's "ears are tired" helps. She's not *trying* to be annoying, it's just that this fascinating new thing is fun and several minutes of blessed silence goes by and she forgets and launches into a new, loud tune.

We've tried "quiet whistling." No, that's just as annoying.

So we're gritting our teeth and hoping this ends soon. The Great Whistling Summer of 2004.

My God. She's whistling now.
