She was taken to a horrible place, where they still gas them. But there is an "underground railroad" of the kind of folks that you are talking about, who take these animals to rescue organizations New York and Vermont, where they have tougher animal protection laws. A run of 19 dogs was set to go on the morning that Sara was scheduled to be gassed. The staff at this place thought that she was such a nice dog that they begged them to take just one more. And they found room for her. And so, I adopted Sara last fall, since my friend in animal rescue gave the woman that was seeking to place her my number. My little guy had been totally bereft since losing his "sister" in the spring. It's amazing the kindness and dedication that these people show. We should all be more like this. And, everyday, I am grateful for having found Sara. And she cost me only what I wanted to donate.:loveya:
