La Brea Tar Pits (La Brea is tar pit in Spanish)

El Sugundo (bad Spanish for 'the second'. The second what? Why the second Atlantic Richfield oil refinery!)

Rancho Penasquitos: Ranch of the small mosquitos.

Del Playa Beach (Del Playa meaning 'the beach'. Lots of bad Spanish here.)

Fresno

Lots of San and Santa names... many place names are from Catholic churches.

Las Pulgas (The Fleas. Yeah, I want to live there)

Anahiem. 'Anna's House'.

In Arizona, there's Gila Bend.

Kansas City Missourri.
