Before I went on vacation, I deposited a paycheck via ATM into my checking account. Or so I thought. When I got back online again several days later, I discovered that the check never went into my checking account.
I called the bank and they don't know what happened. The woman sent a request to the ATM department, and it will take 10 business days for them to mail me a reason why the check wasn't deposited.
SO I don't know whether there was something wrong with the check & they sent it back to the issuer. Or if they deposited it into someone elses account. Or if they just "lost" it. ANd I won't find out for 2 weeks, if then.
Is this normal?
I emailed the check issuer to alert him to the situation, but haven't heard back yet. What else can I do?
In the meantime, my accounts will go below the minimum balance and I will be charged fees. And I will have to pay less than full on my credit cards and incur fees there as well.
Any suggestions or comfort?
