72. Exactly, that's one of the reasons that I sometimes have to stay away from
DU. It's not only the sexist attitudes, it's the absolute inability of certian men on this board to actually HEAR their fellow women DU'ers point of view on subjects like this. I, for one, am sick of this piggish attitude.

It's not about sex - it's about the message it sends to women on this board - reminiscent of a frat house or a locker room. This type of stuff is now forbidden in offices and many other public places as it has been recognized as creating a hostile atmosphere toward women. (not to mention the litigation factor)

Tell me something guys. I have nothing against men appreciating the opposite sex. Women do it too. However, why is it necessary to bring this into an arena of liberal sentiment shared by members of both sexes. If you want to ogle and post pictures, there are THOUSANDS of websites and blogs dedicated to just that. Why bring it here.

It seems to me that it is not so much about "appreciating women" as many of you say, but as an attempt to silence or intimidate the women on this board. Or to somehow "prove" one's virility and masculinity to other male members on this board.

This is nothing less than a power play. Get a magazine, go on a site that caters to this stuff, go to a porn film, whatever gets you off. I really don't care what you do in your private time. But I am tired of DU being used as an outlet for adolescent sexual fantasies and ogling. And if your response is to call me a prude or anti-sex or any of that other bullshit that many men like to trot out to silence female criticizm - don't even think of it. SEX and SEXISM are two ENTIRELY different things.
