The special effects were dazzling, the basic plot line was good, but the movie just didn't make me FEEL the way the Star Wars, Empire, and Return did. In the first ones, I HATED the Emperor, and was rooting for the good guys, hoping Solo would redeem himself, and I was curious what would happen with Vader. I wanted to know!

In the new ones, I didn't care as much about the characters, they seemed one dimensional, and not real. They are "quasi-evil, the margarine of evil." It seemed they devoted too much to special effects and not enough to the depth of plot development. Parts I and II only seem like they are a crummy road map to IV. It is like a cursory "here ya go, this is how you got to this point" with not much feeling behind it.

:shrug: I just hope Lucas brings the FEELING back in episode III.
