When I was heavy (oh yes, I was heavy), I used to look at a size 8 girl and think, "God, I wish I could be that thin." It seemed like an unattainable goal. Now, I look at a size 8 girl and think, average. It's all about perceptions. So if some of you opened this thread and saw that model and thought, "I wish I could be that thin" and then I came along and said, yes, I think she's a little heavy, you thought, "Then what does that make me?" and reacted angrily, as if I was personally attacking you, which I wasn't. Perceptions.

Or perhaps those who are calling the girl fat are driven to provoke people because they need to convince themselves that hunger -- which has both physical and (very characteristic) emotional effects -- is worth it. After all, all those fatties out in cyberville must be jealous, right? Gotta feed on something...

Really, now! Your suppositions about other people's "perceptions" seem more than a little self-serving, no? I dunno why on earth you would want to go there, exactly.
