2. Or two toes...

The two-toed sloth is a bit more active than the three-toed sloth. It is also a bit more agressive.

The three-toed sloth lives most of its life in the trees and comes down only once a week to take a dump. It is also an ecosystem in and of itself. A type of algae grows in the sloth's fur that is known nowhere else in nature. A specific type of moth lives on the algae and lays its eggs in the sloth's fur, which, by the way, grows "backward" from most mammals. The growth pattern lays along a rump-to-head pattern.

Sloths are related to the two types of anteaters, also found in South America: the giant anteater and the tamandua.

How's that for "off the cuff"?
