The "top" is a "500" series desk set. Made only at the Shadeland Works. they called it the "500" in honour of the Indy 500 race.

Here is a "Trimline" in that ugly pink plastic. Ewww! The only thing that colour was good for was the odd tint it put in the recycled bits that were re-melted for interior parts...



I'm well aquainted with these phones, having spent 5 years building the ringers for both the Princess and the Trimline.

Note the date stamp of "6-78" on this M-1A ringer. My ringer.


But, alas, the M-1 was replaced by the P-1A, same ringer as used in every non-"500" phone Western made after about 1981...They sent me over to the P-1 line in about 1980...Then the Design Line about 1981, then the street in 1982...
