17. Oh no
they SAY it's a gift, no need to pay it back, but then the GIFT is mentioned over and over and over again in a very showy "aren't you so lucky we're your inlaws?" kinda way. It is most assuredly not worth it at all. And even if you pay it back (which we did, with a gift of money once because we were so sick of hearing about it) they STILL keep reminding you how wonderful they were to give it in the first place.

They also try to emotionally manipulate my husband a lot when they do that. Which is why we haven't taken a "gift" of money from them in about seven years. Guess what? We still get reminded of the last one, SEVEN years ago.

Not worth it at all.
