Same Time, Next Year

This past weekend, I saw most of this movie for the first time. I fell asleep before it ended, though, so I don't know how it turned out. :spank:

The concept of two people, married (but not to each other), meeting on the same weekend each year for 26 years is kinda weird. Does anyone believe this is possible? Although I do believe in the whole soul-mate thing, I think it would be hard to keep up for so many years.

Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn were great, and it was nice to see Alda play someone other than Hawkeye Pierce, who I came to despise as the years rolled on during M*A*S*H.

Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts on this movie? Can anyone tell me how it ended?
