10. Woah......Dude, nobody ever blew harder than The Doors.
They are the kings of suck. John Densmore is probably the least kick-ass drummer to have ever oozed out of SoCal; Jim Morrisson was a pretentious buffoon whose handful of good images did not make him a poet, no matter how many high school males worship him (plus he single-handedly invented Goth: for this he deserves a Stalinist erasure from Rock history), and he invented that deep, crooning style of idiot vocalization that far too many new wavers and assorted dickcheeses picked up and ran with; Ray Manzarek was a creep with bad facial hair; and Robby Kreiger (their saving grace) not only influenced Travis Moody, but never played anything that wasn't in a blues scale, and was too chickenshit to invent noise guitar like John Cipollina was doing at the time. The Doors invented that solemn "grimace at the camera and take yourself way too seriously" school of rock thought, which eventually gave us pricks like David Coverdale and Nick Cave. The Doors' influence on rock has been almost uniformly negative, besides which their tunes were dorky: "Dontcha Love her madly/wanna be her daddy...."

Whereas the Who wrote "Pictures of Lily."

Case closed in my eyes, at least.
