I've decided that getting plenty of sleep is the key to beating flu etc.

Started with the slightest HINT of a sore throat on Fri, then full blown sore throat and feeling just very "sick" yesterday, felt like low grade fever and just short of shaking chills, went straight to bed at around 7PM (doggies in bed with me yay!) and slept until 9-10 this AM.

This morning it feels 90 percent licked, so we'll see. I've been on duty for work all weekend so I'm very lucky to not have been called in yesterday or today so far and only worked until about 7PM on Friday.

Since I haven't had any digestive complaints I also ate plenty of calories yesterday. Your body NEEDS that fuel when you feel the war being fought inside it.

Many people around me have had lingering respiratory infections from symptoms like mine. I've been lucky the last couple times I've been sick to not have to work and be able to apply this "spending all day in bed" remedy right away and I really think it's helped a lot in quick, one day recovery.

Of course it's very possible that they were 1-2 day type flus that were going to get better in that time anyway, but sometimes you can almost FEEL the war being won by your immune system in a particular hour or moment when you are resting and sleeping.
