OK so I had my grad school interview on Friday

It went fabulously well. I was freaking out a bit in the beginning as we were rushing to catch the train and I tripped and spilled coffee all up my arm on my nicest shirt. A panic attack and a trip to the Filene's Basement at Union Square later and I was shaking hands with Marshal Arisman, one of the greatest American illustrators alive.

Marshall was extraordinarily nice and we hit it off very well. I learned some interesting facts. There are only 20 spaces in the department which means they let in 10 people a year. The waiting list I'm on consists of 8 people. I think, that by virtue of this meeting, that I'm at or near the top.

Marshall took me around and introduced me to all the students at work in their cubes in a secret floor that undergrads are not privy to. After seeing the community that he's built and the caliber of work the students are creating I want to be there 10 times more.

At the end Marshall shook my hand, told me it was wonderful to meet me and they wouldn't know until mid to late April. So there you have it.

He liked my work and said there was no concrete reason I was wait listed rather than accepted as my work was very strong. He said its the politics of the judging committee.

Vibes would be appreciated!
