Reply #11: How many children were involved? How old?

Thank goodness that I was divorced when my children were one and two years old. I remarried their stepdad 1 1/2 years later (his wife had died of cancer at age 34). We celebrate 33 years together next February 4, 2006.

The only man they knew would take care of them was their stepfather. During their teens, they also lived with my ex-husband and his wife. My ex = their biological father -- he's far away and not very happy about how things have turned out. (Stepfather introduced my daughter to a young man he worked with. She married him! Then, we moved west to be nearer my kids... 2750 miles from Boston to Portland, OR.)

Anyway, I hope Allison's and Howard's kids grow up straight and true -- and that their new stepfather is good and kind to them.
