Does Your Cat Want Lots Of Heavy Petting??

Is he/she waaaaay too lovey dovey?

Wherever I am, especially in a horizontal position, at least 5 or 6 times a day/night, "Mouse" will find me. If I'm laying down she'll get on my chest (and while standing) start the heavy purring and slobbering. (Yes she's that into it) I at least try to get her to sit down so 1)the slobber doesn't land on my face and 2)I won't have 16 lbs of cat digging into me via 4 sticks. If I succeed in getting her to sit, she'll still purr and do that "Kneeding" thing. I can take only about 20 minutes of that yet ALWAYS feel bad when I eventually push her away.

I always assumed that behavior would disappear when she got older. She's almost 14 now and I'm still waiting. Perhaps we need therapy. Ya think?
