Bailey was my mom's colleague's aunt's dog's puppy, and he was free.

Jasper the Snake I got from this dude I knew. I had wanted a rat snake for a while and I went to the pet store just to look and I ran into this dude Kerry. I had always strongly disliked him, and my New Year's resolution that year was to be nicer to him. I was talking to Kerry about snakes and he mentioned that he had two small rat snakes, and if I took both of them he'd throw in the tank for free. I took them both, and named one Jasper and the other Opal, based on their coloring. Opal ran away a few months later, but I still have Jasper. :)
