37. Cotton was 'free to a good home'
at 6 weeks of age. That was 21 years ago.

Larry, Curly and Moe were the offspring of feral mother. After I started feeding her so that she wouldn't have to leave the kittens to hunt, she brought them to live under my workshop. She'd hiss and spit if I tried to pet her but she never made a fuss when I wanted to pet the kittens. That was 16 years ago.

Bailey had been adopted by 3 college girls living in a second floor apartment in the middle of Charleston. Not a good thing for a mix between 2 herding breeds. They ignored the fact that they were supposed to take him back to the shelter if the adoption didn't work out and, instead, advertised him in the paper. He was a year and half old and it was 1994.

Rosie came in March of 1995, a rescue of my favorite breed, the Bouvier. About the same age as Bailey. We lost her 2 weeks ago today when her hips gave out and the pain became too much for her.

Dotty, another Bouvier, was purchased from a breeder in 1997 at the age of 13 weeks.

Daphne is a shelter dog, pug mix, silly little thing, approximately 8 years old when we adopted her a year ago this past August.
