who are shouted down by view points like yours that are based very much on emotion and the fact that you are personally invested in this issue.

I imagine they feel unwelcome here based on the fact that they are told their viewpoint is shit and they simply don't live up to some myhtically absurd liberal "standard". I think my opinion is as worthy of being expressed on here as yours.

I realize we are dealing with a subset of people on DU who feel they are wholly more enlightened than the general populace and thus have to forcefeed their enlightenment on the country in the sense you give a dog his medicine or the like.

Only problem is, even if you are right in that you haven't been particularly successful have you...?
