Puzzle of the ages resolved: The egg came first!

Just in case this enigma has yet to be resolved, I put the limited powers of this chknltl's mind to the task. My conclusions are that the egg came first and here is why: Like all creatures the chicken evolved from something other than a chicken. The "non-chicken" parent, although genetically close to being a chicken, was not quite a chicken. The egg(s) from this parent non-chicken would have contained the first chicken(s). So from an evolutionary point of view there had to be a first chicken. That first chicken started in an egg.... problem solved. :patriot:
