The Bible verse lists several grains and legumes, and advises making them into a bread. Doesn't give measurements, but somehow the people who make this bread (and, now, cereal) think they know.

Ezekiel 4: 9

And you, take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put them into one vessel, and make bread for yourself. During the number of days that you lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days, you shall eat it.


(Interesting aside--If you don't leave a space between the colon and the number "9", you get :9 )
