46. A Fair Question
However, I may be in the 1% of members who actually read all the rules, because I wasn't sure if I should join up. I had a good friend who used to frequent this site, and said that I would be booted out for my beliefs...this was a couple of years ago before I turned my back on the Republican party. Anyhoo, I'd rather not get into what beliefs I hold that may not fit in with the general consensus. Right now I'm questioning everything, so while I may think this today, I may think that tomorrow.

A quick story: Being a Texan, I was raised to mock gays...those of you from Texas, tell me it ain't the truth down here. I was a homophobe. I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. I started noticing, in my job at the time, that the only people I could depend on to get things done right, and right now, was a group of 3 friends. They seemed a little different to me, and I found out that the 3 of them were all gay. Bewildered, I started to spend some time with them, to pick their brains. Instead of using my management position to 'step on them', I focused on performance. Within a month, I realized that I was an idiot, and I had been taught wrong. A month after that, I went to a club with them and some other folks, and had a blast.

This is where it all began.

All that being said, and in response to "we'll straighten you out all the way", I'll say this: I never believed 100% of the Republican agenda, nor will I ever believe 100% of the Democratic agenda. I will, however, rest comfortably in between somewhere, and make up my own mind on every issue.

I voted for Bush in 2000 because I was supposed to. I voted for Bush in 2004 because I had no other viable options. This has led me to the core of where I'm at now. How many of you are like me in that you're tired of the 2-party bullshit? When will we get pissed off enough to give "the little guy" a real shot at the Office? IMHO, nothing will really change until we do.

PS: I voted for Kinky...he was the only one I believed would do what was right, because it was right. But very few took him seriously, because he wasn't Kinky (R), or Kinky (D)...that's the shit I'm talking about.

...and...I'm spent.
