50. My dad had a job he hated for the most part...
but he stuck with it because he didn't believe he could afford to quit.

Still, he never viewed his work as his niche. What he really loved was studying US coastal defense fortifications dating from the Spanish American War. He compiled an impressive amount of material about them that other historians find useful today.
Dad passed away 3 months before he was set to retire; but at least he was able to work at something he loved, even if it wasn't his job.

I hope you find something that is special to you... :hug:
