12. Funny, those kind of people exist in Portland, Oregon, too! Slightly different slant...

I've heard Californians who hate it here -- too overcast and too cold and they (might) have to occasionally carry a raincoat or an umbrella. They also might have had to take a cut in salary to live here.

I've heard that Oregonians are unfriendly and cliquish -- or too chummy and want to be in your business all the time -- or too dumb or stupid to understand anything -- or too snobbish and uppity.

I've heard that the driving here is awful ((WTF?) -- roads too clogged, people going too fast, or too slow -- hotdogging in and out of lanes and never signaling.

Oh, yes, you might have to wait at the Division of Motor Vehicles for up to an hour because of those "ILLEGALS WHO CAN'T EVEN SPEAK THE LANGUAGE WHO WANT TO GET DRIVERS LICENSES OR ROAD TESTS."

Believe me, I've heard it all. SOME people are intolerant, judgemental, and just totally disgusting, wherever they live. But not you or me.

Oh, I love this quote when asked about where I have lived (FL, CA, NC, NY, MA, OR):

"I TRY TO BLOOM WHERE I AM PLANTED."
