Reply #27: Media literacy and critical thinking

The damned thing of it is, the right-wingers read and watch pretty much the same things we do, with a few exceptions such as the Faux Noise "Some say liberals eat babies" meme. But that's opinion in the guise of news — and, again, too few people have the critical thinking skills to discern the difference, or they simply don't care to because it's easier and more fun to just rip away.

They also pick out perceived "buzz words" in a news story to use as examples of why a reporter or newspaper — or medium as a whole — is biased, and that evolves into such things as "So-and-so is a propaganda arm of the BFEE."

I don't know who came up with "Truth has a liberal bias," but it's utter crap meant to make our side sound like it holds the higher moral ground.

Truth has no bias.
