Mississauga man faces murder charges in daughter's deathWednesday, December 12, 2007
A Mississauga man charged with murdering his 16-year-old daughter is scheduled to appear at a Brampton court for a bail hearing, Wednesday morning.
Homicide detectives have also been investigating Aqsa Parvez's older brother to determine if he had a role in the killing.
Parvez died in hospital late Monday after being on life support at the Hospital for Sick Children. Her mother has arranged for her organs to be donated.
Friends of the teen said she had been arguing with her family over whether she should wear a traditional Muslim hijab, or head scarf -- something the teen did not want to do.
Her father, a 57-year-old cab driver, faces murder charges.
Parvez's 26-year-old brother is charged with obstructing police, allegedly for trying to mislead officers during their investigation.
