A New England man and his wife were constantly feuding over household chores, and neither wanted to give in and let the other have the last word. Finally one day the husband demanded that his wife bake him up some biscuits. She, in turn, demanded that he go out and bring in some firewood. Without a word, the man walked straight out the back door, through the back yard, found the road into town, and was never seen again. He was gone for twenty years, he worked as a logger for a while, then because a merchant seaman. At last, after twenty years, he returned home. As he approached the back door, he saw a stack of firewood. He picked up an armload and entered the house.

"Here's your goddammed firewood," he said to his wife.

She reached up on top of the refrigerator brought down a plate of something old, dry, and moldy. "And here is your goddammed plate of biscuits," she said.

Now this is why you never argue with a woman!
