We have frequent power outages here in the boonies. If they go on long enough for me to be concerned about the stuff in the fridge, I just gather it all up in a box and put it in the garage.
For freezer stuff, I just put them in a securely shut cooler (to keep the critters away) and stick the cooler outside in the snow where it's REALLY cold.
With food prices these days, I'd say that this would be a good problem to have! :-) It should be fine as long as it's under 40 degrees (for the fridge stuff) where you are.
