The defendant's first outburst came on the second day of trial. Defendant's counsel had made an objection regarding an alleged statement by a juror. Judge Urbom held a hearing on it and then overruled the objection. The jury was then brought in and seated. I was looking toward the courtroom door in anticipation of the witness coming in when I was startled by the defendant: "Hey, Captain Kangaroo, fuck you and the rest of the jury too. You've got to remove these fucking idiots. You got these people sitting here, bunch of prejudiced pieces of shit and you can't remove them. What's up with this shit? ... I'm tired of this stuff. And these two idiots I got for attornes too, I want them out of here ... Most prejudiced courtroom I've ever seen in my life. You're all prejudiced, the whole fucking state. I hope you all rot. Find me guilty."
