the next time a wingnut tries to tell you that the nazis were left wing mention this, that the people who collaborated wit the Nazis in france were right wing. Most of you probably know is already but is is what happen. In 1938 the socialist won control of the government, people in the right didn't want to pay more taxes for the new social programs being insituted by the new socialist government so the right wingers colloaberated with the Nazis to overthrow the Socialist government, and the vichy government resulted. I know there are other ways to handle that tired wingnut argument, but this is an optional way. I just learned this in my comparative polictics class today, I didn't know exactly what happened before.
